Description

The Hands-On OEM-Style Collision Repair Program (300 hours) at Area22 Training Centre is an intensive, 37-day program that prepares collision technicians for full-scope structural repairs and vehicle reconstruction. CCC-aligned and developed around OEM procedures, this program blends classroom theory with practical work on real vehicles to build confidence and I-Car certification readiness. It includes extensive hands-on practice across structural repair, dent work plastic repair, welding, frame setup and full vehicle reconstruction. The curriculum is built to prepare technicians for real-world collision repair and multiple industry certifications.

  • Course Overview: January 12–13 (2 days). 
  • Body Structure Analysis: January 19, 20, 26 & 27 (4 days).
  • Dent Repair & Filler Application: February 2, 3, 9, 10, 17, 18, 19 & 20 (8 days).
  • Repairing Plastics: March 2, 3, 9 & 10 (4 days).
  • Advanced MIG & Spot Welding: March 23–27 (one full week, 5 days).
  • Frame Set-Up & 3D Measuring: March 30–31 (4 days listed in outline; please confirm specific session days).
  • Vehicle Reconstruction (Final Step): April 13–17 and April 20–24 (10 days).

Total: 37 days of intensive collision training at 300 hours.

  • Foundations, Safety, Tools & Equipment: Basic tools, power tools, welders (Spot, MIG, & plastic), rivet guns (hydraulic & battery operated), frame systems, measuring systems, two-post lift safety, course materials and vehicle construction fundamentals. 
  • Body Structure Analysis: Full vehicle disassembly, unitized structure inspection, OEM repair vs replacement decision making, and vehicle-specific repair assessment.
  • Dent Repair & Filler Application: From basic key-pulling to advanced glue-pulling, stress relief, filler selection/mixing and sanding prep (includes Keco training).
  • Plastic Repair: Types of repairs, safety measures, repair methods, plastic ID, and OEM procedures.
  • Advanced MIG & Spot Welding: PPE & welding safety, welder operation training on a variety of welders, and welding applications. Intensive welding across steel, aluminum and silicon-bronze, plus spot-welding practice and I-CAR testing paths (CCC certification in all 3 materials).
  • Frame Setup & 3D Measurement: Vehicle setup on frame machines, 3D measuring systems, damage assessment and corrective pulling, electronic measuring systems and OEM specifications, and Final rechecking and system understanding.
  • Vehicle Reconstruction: Comprehensive understanding of vehicle structural components (CCC Steel Sectioning certificate), practical panel removal expertise, proficiency in panel alignment, advanced joining techniques, real-world collision repair skills, industry standards and safety compliance, and a foundation for a successful career in collision repair.
  • Career-ready Scope: A full pathway from teardown to reconstruction that prepares technicians for a wide range of collision scenarios.

  • Extensive, real-vehicle practice in purpose-built bays: Welding stations, frame benches, 3D measuring systems, spot welders, MIG welders, rivet guns, and other state-of-the-art equipment.
